#2 LIGHT & LAND

[ PAST ]  Sunday, February 24 3-6pm, 2013

Part One investigated ideas and qualities of light. We were inspired by James Turrell's text in Art in the Landscape (published by the Chinati Foundation), where he explains that humans see best at twilight!

This salon exhibited a study on neon (courtesy the Neon Company on Dekalb ave), candlelight, video by Tacita Dean, Jeremy Blake & Composer Walter Fahndrich. . .Plus we had the usual random assortment of books, texts and images by Tauba Auerbach, Guillermo R. Gudino, James Turrell, Nancy Holt, Michael Heizer, and more. Discussion about perception, horizons, and the possibilities of light in the landscape began @ 4pm.
